THE BEST OF THE BEST DIRECT TO GARMENT PRINTING

Direct to garment printing, also known as DTG, is another process we offer here at Woven Inc Limited. This process does exactly what it says. It prints your full colour image directly onto your garment in minutes. Imagine a paper printer but instead of paper being fed through it would be your garment of choice. Direct To Garment (DTG) printing is a revolutionary method of printing high-quality, full-colour custom apparel. With DTG, you can create stunning, intricate designs on a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and blends. This technology has changed the game for the custom apparel industry. It makes it easier and more affordable than ever before to create personalised clothing that looks professional and lasts a long time

MINIMUMS?

DTG doesn't have any minimum unit requirements or set up fees, so it becomes extremely cost effective for one offs or short runs, even for multi colour designs. Obviously single units are much more expensive than full runs. DTG is great because you can easily run single units to see what a physical product will look like, colour-wise, size wise and placement wise. It’s an ideal pre-production process without worrying about extra screen setups.

What Machines Are You Working With?

Another brilliant reason to use Woven Inc for DTG - the company recently upgraded their whole system. Instead of using heat presses to dry and cure garments, they have invested in high quality drying draws which give you the perfect finish every time without any press marks and hazing you can get when using a heat press.

Woven Inc currently has two brother pro GTX machines with two 6-Drawing drying cabinets.

Direct to garment printing: what is it?

DTG means direct to garment. In a nutshell it's a digital apparel printing process whereby you lay your garment flat on a printer bed and a specialised inkjet prints directly onto the garment.

With DTG you have unlimited access to colours, although you will not get the same results as screen printing. Colours don’t tend to be as bright when using the DTG process but we can get them to pop really well. Also printing the same design on both white and coloured garments may show a slight different shade.

DTG is suitable for all garment colours but be careful when picking your fabric content as not all products can be DTG'd. This has since upgraded and some products with polyester content can now be printed on where as before this was not possible at all. One of the main advantages of DTG printing is its versatility. Because the ink is applied directly to the fabric, you can create designs not possible with other printing methods. This includes designs with gradients, shading, and even photographs. Plus, DTG printing is ideal for small to medium-sized orders, making it an excellent choice for small businesses, events, and individual

How long do you take?
Generally anywhere up to 14 working day is a normal turn around from approving your artwork, obviously if they are ready any sooner we will ship them immediately. Although when ordering in busy season please leave up to 18 workings days to receive your order. Turn around times are not set deadlines they are estimated times for completion therefore your stock could be with you much sooner or slightly after this estimated date.

Can I see my design before placing an order?

We do not visualise orders before confirming and paying for the order. As you can appreciate it takes a lot of time and attention to visuals all artwork before it goes to a printing stage. Once you have confirmed and made payment on your order all artwork is passed over to our design team and they will visualise your order back to you for approval before anything goes to print.

***We need an approval directly to our design team before any production starts.

What size prints can I have?

Based on T-shirts see the maximum sizes and locations below, sizing will vary depending on the product and product size you choose, screens and prints are one size fits all.  Check out our comparisons page for other varations, we do have oversized screens but they are price and sizing on application.

E.G if you have an Extra small Garment and a Triple Extra Large Garment the print can only go as large as a the Extra Small. Therefore it will look large on the Extra Small but on a Triple Extra Large it will look small in comparison to the garment size.

Another advantage of DTG printing is durability. Unlike traditional screen printing, which cracks and peels over time, DTG prints are soft to the touch. They are designed to withstand multiple washings without fading or peeling. This means that your custom apparel will look great for years to come.

In addition to its versatility and durability, DTG printing is also environmentally friendly. Because it uses water-based inks, it produces less waste and has a lower environmental impact than traditional screen printing. Due to DTG printing's lack of harsh chemicals, workers and customers are safer.

Typically, white garments work best since it is not necessary Unlike coloured items you may find there is a press mark or variation between where the garment is printed and has had pretreat to un touched areas. DTG printing also offers superior print quality than traditional printing methods. Because the ink is applied directly to the garment, it can create intricate and detailed designs with crisp lines and vibrant colours. The ink is also absorbed directly into the garment fibers, creating a soft and comfortable feel that won't crack or peel over time. Finally, DTG printing is environmentally friendly than traditional printing methods. It uses water-based inks that are eco-friendly and biodegradable, which means they won't harm the environment or the people who handle them.
