Do you have an alternative supplier who is coming in at a lower cost?We are keen to look into price matching, so why not send over your official quote from your supplier. We will only take price matches seriously if they have been produced within the last 30 Days in a PDF form, with full company details from the supplier are shown and if they are a like for like company. The quote must be matched against the exact same products and services.
Screen printing can be pricy due to the time-consuming and intensive setup, especially for intricate designs with multiple colors. However, there are ways to cut costs, like:
Print Colours:Consider minimising the number of colors in your design. It's important to note that using the same color in a slightly lighter or darker shade is considered a separate Pantone. Adding an extra color will result in another screen and layer of ink for processing.
Multiple Print Locations:Every location has a set up fee plus a colour charge fee. On average for every new location on a garment it will cost between £1-£2 per unit.
For example, if you had a four colour design front and back. But they were the same design but different sizes (i.e a left breast front and big colour back) youd be charged 8 screens and 8 ink charges. To help reduce the cost for this we would recommend doing your left breast as a single colour and your big back as the four colour design. This would save you £75 in set ups alone and roughly around £1-2 per garment.
Garment Choice:When considering your budget you should be aware that 95% of our products have a different price and we charge of the daily unit provided from our supplier. We have a multitude of garments on offer to suit any budget. We have premium products and we have low cost products. Generally speaking any AS Colour or Stanley/Stella products is at the higher range. Then you have Gildan & AWDIS on the lower scale. If youd like us to hit a budget you have in mind just let our team know and they can find a product to bring the costs down.
Also Garment colours can effect the price too, white garments are generally less in value. When using dark garments to get the best finish we add a first down white as a base layer. This adds to time and cost also.
Units: As odd as it sounds bring up the units will bring your cost per unit down. We work on sliding scales starting at 20 Units + = Max 3 Screens50 Units + = Max 6 Screens 100 Units + = Max 8 Screens200 Units + = 8 Screens Plus.
Alternative Methods:Finally if you cant get the right budget sorted from trying the above, perhaps a charge of application would work. We have similar print methods to offer such as DTG or DTF
Embroidery works on stitch count, so the bigger the design the higher the cost. Woven Inc runs, Two 12 head machines, Two 8 head machines, Two 4 head machines & Two Single Head machines.
Each head holds up to 15 colours to run with. So we dont price based off minimum runs as we can fit jobs on a number of different stations. However, there are ways to cut costs, like:
Application:We have different methods of embroidery from basic 2D embroidery which is the cheapest option. To 3D embroidery which requires a foam base. Along with Applique flock and layered embroidery using both 2D and 3D. And finally badges and patches: these a high density stitch counts.
Size Of Design:Reduce the size if possible, considering complex designs may restrict this choice. Background or infill stitches can enhance the look but also increase costs. Understand what suits your product type. Large embroideries are ideal for hoodies for better design retention. However, on a t-shirt, they may stress the garment.A general logo will be priced at around 7K stitches which is a standard size for a left breast design and can take around 1 minute per thousand stitches. Guidance costing of £2.45 per unit. Where as a large design with 40K stitches will set you back roughly £16 per unit and can take approximately 30-50minutes depending on the size, detail and thread changes.
Multiple Colours:Whilst having the free range to add in as many colours as you like this can also hinder production time and can be taken into consideration when pricing. Our machines can hold 15 thread colours at one time, but setting this up can take a long time.
Units: As odd as it sounds bringing up the units will bring your cost per unit down. We work on sliding scales starting at Single to 24 Units24 Units + 60 Units + 144 Units + Alternative Methods:There isnt much to move to in regards to embroidey although, woven labels, patches and or our other print methods to offer such as Screenprint, DTG or DTF.If you need us to look at lowering your costs just ask our team for their advice and they can work out some alternative options for you.
DTG: Direct To Garment, is the best way to create full colour designs without have any set up fees. Only downside is the print isnt as good as Screenprint and is a higher cost per unit. However, there are ways to cut costs, like:
Print Size:DTG is priced based of the size of design and the colours in the design. Think about the size of the print if it can be reduced this will bring your costing down again. Why not take a look at our Applcation Sizes Page.Print Colours:Whilst there is no set up fees when using DTG, you can print as many colours and shades as you wish. When printing onto dark garments a higher volume of ink needs to be used to get the best print possible. Also you will need to pre-treatment the garments, this in turn creates an additional stage at another cost. Therefor printing onto white garments will give you a cheaper price per unit.

DTF: Direct To Film, unleash colorful designs with zero setup fees. Keep in mind that the print may not be as crisp as Screenprint and is pricier per piece. However, there are ways to cut costs, like:
